VATICAN CITY (Reuters) – Pope Francis on Sunday condemned assaults on “defenseless individuals” in a spate of gun violence in three American states, together with one which killed 20 individuals in a Walmart retailer in El Paso, Texas.
Chatting with 1000’s of pilgrims and vacationers in St. Peter’s Sq. for his Sunday message and blessing, Francis stated he was spiritually near the victims, the wounded and the households affected by assaults he stated had “bloodied Texas, California and Ohio”.
Francis stated all three assaults focused “defenseless individuals”.
He talked about the Texas taking pictures in addition to one other final week at a meals pageant in California the place three individuals have been killed, and a 3rd in Dayton, Ohio, the place 10 individuals have been killed early on Sunday..
Francis, who has previously criticized the gun manufacturing business, then led the gang in reciting a Hail Mary for the victims.
